Egypt, Oman discuss enhancing cooperation to achieve economic targets
CAIRO - 5 June 2022: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait agreed on Sunday with his Omani counterpart Sultan ben Salem al Habsi on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the financial policies domain to achieve hoped-for economic and development targets.

The two sides agreed on exchanging joint investments and expertise in green hydrogen production.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank in Sharm el Sheikh.

Talks tackled the latest international developments in light of negative impact of Russian military operation in Ukraine, skyrocketing food prices and unprecedented inflation rates.

Maait made clear that the economic reform program adopted by the government and the economic recovery plan made the national economy more resilient and capable of facing internal and external shocks.

Egypt is determined to move ahead with structural reforms, expand the social protection umbrella and increase expenditures on health and education, he added.
